Today, you were given time to catch up on the reading you were to have completed on the weekend, to study terminology, or to finish your essay (which was to be handed in at the beginning of class). I have some concerns about homework. Reading (such as the short story assignment) is generally homework, as many students read at different speeds. It would be unfair to force students to sit for a half an hour while others play catchup. As such, I explained at the beginning of this course that you will be expected to read a minimum of two hours a week outside of class. This means class readings as well as your independent novel. Keep this in mind as to not do your readings will affect your mark.
